Many of us are attracted to AMSA for the same reasons we were attracted to medicine in the first place. Both are forums to contribute to something larger than oneself, and make a positive difference to the lives of others. Medical students are bright, altruistic and capable people, and the core aims of the CLO ought to be to channel these qualities into worthwhile charitable and philanthropic activities.
Also, our team hopes to have a greater focus on the grassroots involvement of our members by engaging their personal interests in our "AMSA Interest Groups (AIGs)" project outlined above.
I am committed to the ongoing management and improvement of AMSA’s current initiatives as well as the proper assessment and implementation of any new initiatives. I believe my experiences in MedSoc in a number of roles, as well as other charities committees have equipped me with the skills to be a capable and motivated CLO. I also bring to this portfolio experiences I have gained from overseas medical students and their involvement in their own communities, through my attendance at the East Asian Medical Students’ Council Conference in Malaysia earlier this year. I am very passionate about medical student involvement in the community and I am excited about the prospect of working with a motivated and proficient team.

Although AMSA’s current initiatives including the Blood Drive, Get a GP campaign, Movember, Mentoring and various Wellbeing projects seek to embody such aims, our team believes that they currently fall short of their potential and can be better promoted and managed to achieve better results.
